Janet Wainscott is a graduate of the Hagley Writers’ Institute and her poetry has appeared in Takahe, Bravado and the Christchurch Press. She has been placed in the last two Takahe Cultural Studies Essay Competitions, which pleases her greatly because she especially enjoys writing creative non-fiction.
In 2013 she published her first book ‘What Are You Doing Here? Reflections on Dementia’, which is currently available in Whitcoulls and other selected bookshops. There is more about this book on Janet’s website: http://www.janetwainscott.com
Janet worked on a novel for years before she realised it was time to let it go. Undaunted, she has started another one and feels much more excited about the new one.
